Easter eggs and baskets
I love this time of the year - I especially love when it is nice and sunny and warm on Easter sunday - which is supposed to be the case this year :o) It reminds me so much of when I was a kid - when it seemed like every year Easter was sunny and warm :o) Anyway now that Easter is coming it got me thinking how much Brittany LOVED chocolate. I know chocolate is a big NO NO for dogs too so it always worried me that when the girls got their easter baskets they would leave their candy lying around and of course Brittany's radar would be on full blast and she would find it and eat it and then heaven forbid get sick - though I think because of her size she would probably have to eat a whole lot of chocolate before it would have a bad affect on her. I have given her chocolate in the past - in very small amounts and she was ok. So each year when I would put out the girls baskets with all their chocolate in it I would always have to them up high so Brittany couldn't get her paws on them. But it never failed - as careful as I was she would always somehow manage to get into the baskets - mostly because one of the girls would leave their basket on the floor in their bedroom and even though I would barracade the bedroom doors so Britts could not get in she would always somehow manage to squeeze through and get in there and then wreak havoc LOL! I remember a few times we would come home and find an easter basket grass trail going from the bedroom out towards the kitchen (a sure sign that bugger was up to no good) but the best was the time we came home (it might have been last Easter) and there were actually foil egg wrappers on the floor but no chocolate - that buster actually seemed to have "opened" the eggs and only ate the chocolate LOL! Or then there were times that I would find only lollipop sticks and no lollipop - I actually caught her one time with a tootsie pop - she was holding it in between her paws and just licking it really gentley it was the funniest thing I didn't have the heart to take it away from her (somehow I doubt she would be giving it up easily anyway). I find it interesting how we as people always seem to love the things that are not good for us and that hold true with dogs as well (especially when it comes to chocolate :o)
